Pool tournament checklist: get the bracket ready before the first break.
A little preparation makes tournament night easier for players and staff. Use this checklist to settle the entries, format, tables, and result workflow before play begins.

- Confirm the entry list.Check names for spelling and make sure late additions are handled before you seed the field.
- Choose the tournament format.Tell players whether the event is single elimination, double elimination, pool play, or a combination.
- Set seeding and byes.Decide how the field is seeded and resolve any byes before the first match starts.
- Count the available tables.Confirm which tables are in play and how staff will assign them when matches are ready.
- Set the match and score routine.Tell players where to check for their next opponent and who records or approves each result.
During the event
- Keep one person responsible for bracket updates.Make sure each completed match is recorded before the next round is called.
- Confirm the table before sending players.Use the same table naming system on the bracket, at the venue, and in match announcements.
- Resolve disputed scores before advancing.Agree on who can correct a result and communicate the final decision to both players.
- Check the bracket between rounds.Look for missing results, unexpected byes, and players who need to be called back.
Before you close
- Record the final result.Confirm the last match and the event winner in the tournament record.
- Save the session and share results.Keep the final bracket available for your records and the players who ask for it.
